ColumbiaCare Training Program

ColumbiaCare utilizes evidence-based training practices combining adult learning theory with clinical theory to develop skilled staff.  We believe that the care we provide is directly linked  to the skills of our staff.  Here are just a few of the tools we use to achieve quality care through skills development:
  • Training Coordination based out of our Medford Administrative Office, this position is responsible for overseeing compliance with State and CCS standards.  All external training providers are screened for their abiity to deliver learning that meets CCS standards.
  • Essential Learning provides online courses as well as the Learning Management System used to track curriculum compliance, outside training, and individual development plans.
  • Appliced Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is provided to each staff member working in our facilities.
  • Oregon Intervention System (OIS) is our prefered tool for de-escalation and for the protection of clients and staff.  All facility staff are certified.
  • Standard Curriculum is applied to both pre-service training and annual requirements and designed specifically for CCS and the clients we serve.
  • CCS Conferences are held twice a year and provide face-to-face opportunity for Leadership Team Members to build their skills through sharing during formal conference presentations adn informa social gatherings.
  • Field Training is provided on a regular basis by Adminstrative Office staff who are experts in their subject and/or processes.
  • iChat is used by the Adminstrative Office staff to provide virtual face-to-face training on complex process changes or new procedures to be implemented.
  • Face-to-Face visits allow Administrators to stay in touch with the Medford Executive Team and Support Services staff.
  • Conferences and Seminars allow our professionals and specialists in every field area to enhance their skills while staying current on industry trends.
